Admissions Requirements

To be eligible, students must hold a baccalaureate degree in the content area or a closely related field and have the following:

  • A cumulative GPA of 2.75
  • Successful completion of the Missouri Content Assessment (MOCA) is required prior to enrollment in Semester II or taking any additional program-related coursework.

The Master of Arts in Teaching with secondary education teacher certification at Lindenwood University will prepare you to become a certified content teacher for secondary school grades 9-12 in Missouri. This certificate of secondary education program allows you to pursue teaching certification within the Master’s degree. We offer secondary teaching certification in secondary biology, chemistry, math, social studies, English, business, marketing, and speech/theatre. This general certificate of secondary education teaching program offers educator preparation in instruction, curriculum development and more to prepare you to pursue your teaching licensure upon successful completion of this program.
